Speaker:  Brian Bothast, US Dept. of Labor/OSHA

Title:  Update on OSHA’s National and Regional Emphasis Programs

Bio:  Brian Bothast is a Safety and Occupational Health Specialist with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in Peoria, Illinois.  He has worked for Caterpillar in the Environmental, Health, and Safety Department and as an Industrial Hygienist with OSHA. Brian is a 1988 graduate of Illinois State University with a B.S. in Environmental Health. 

 Content:  This session will address OSHA’s National and Regional Emphasis Programs and violations OSHA inspectors often find. Brian will walk participants through an OSHA inspection and a wide variety of safety and health topics including fall hazards, noise and COVID-19.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          

• Ensure employers are familiar with all of OSHA’s National and Regional emphasis programs and controls to prevent injuries and illnesses.
• Ensure employers are aware of the commonly cited OSHA standards and controls.
• Ensure personnel understand the OSHA COVID-19 emphasis program and effective control methods
